Usage

Fugitive Heads
Next, let’s talk about the second main currency of this season, Fugitive Heads. Fugitive Heads are the rarer type of currency you’ll come across in Diablo 4 Season 7. You can get them by completing Whisper objectives in Headhunts or by running Rootholds Dungeons.
Headhunts
Let’s start with the first one. You can get Fugitive Heads through Exposed Roots or Uprooted Cocoons that spawn around you when you complete Whisper objectives in Headhunts.
What I mean by this is that when you find these Exposed Roots or Uprooted Cocoons, you can click and interact with them to trigger random events. If you’re lucky enough, they might spawn the elusive and deadly Headrotten Bosses. This Headrotten will often spawn in the form of Headless Husks, and it has a chance to be possessed by a Fugitive Head. If it’s possessed by a Fugitive Head, then when you kill it, it will drop that Head for you.
Note that the chance of Headless Husks being possessed by Fugitive Heads increases with difficulty, so the higher Torment difficulty level you play, the greater your chance of getting a Fugitive Head. Additionally, this chance can also be increased by using the new Draught of Whispers consumable while farming. Therefore, to maximize your chances of getting Fugitive Heads from Headhunts, you must play at the highest difficulty you can afford while applying Draught of Whispers.
Rootholds Dungeon
Another possible way to get Fugitive Heads is to run Rootholds Dungeon. Rootholds are a type of seasonal mini-dungeon that can be opened using Whispering Wood Sigils. Whispering Wood Sigils are similar to Nightmare Sigils in that they are required to enter Rootholds. These Sigils were originally found in Whisper Caches and Silent Chests, so perhaps Silent Chests may make a comeback this season.
In these Rootholds, you’ll see multiple Headrotten enemies, which are a significant source of Restless Rot. You’ll also encounter some similar objectives and choices to what we have encountered in Infernal Hordes.
Generally speaking, you’ll get a lot of seasonal rewards from these Rootholds, including a lot of Diablo 4 gold for sale, crafting materials, and Fugitive Heads. As we discussed before, Fugitive Heads can be used to craft Occult Gems in Tree of Whispers, which requires not only Heads but also Restless Rot and Gem Fragments. On top of that, Fugitive Heads can also be converted into Restless Rot at vendors near Tree of Whispers. So you never have to worry about your farmed Fugitive Heads going to waste.
Draught Of Whispers
Finally, the developers have also added a new consumable in Season 7 called Draught of Whispers. Although as of today, the source of this consumable is unknown, it will most likely come from Whisper Caches or Headhunts, but you can craft it at Alchemist.
This is a very useful item for a number of reasons. Draught of Whispers can be used for two main things. First, it increases the chance of randomly encountering Forgotten Altars in any dungeon, which is used to learn a certain type of Witch Powers for your character. In addition to this, Draught of Whispers can also be used to increase the chance of Fugitive Heads attaching to Headless Husks by 50%. So basically, using Draught of Whispers increases the number of Fugitive Heads you can form in a certain period of time, which is very useful.
